The McClinton Scholars Mentorship program is a nonprofit community dedicated to serving underrepresented undergraduate students. Our goal is to provide students with access to resources, opportunities, exposure, networking, skill set development, and mentorship.
Where we started…
Ms. Khayla McClinton started the program as a passion, Pay It Forward project. She reflected on how she needed more knowledge, resources, and supportive conversations on how to succeed as an underrepresented student during her undergraduate years. Knowing she was not alone in her struggles, she decided to provide a solution. Hence, the birth of McClinton Scholars. Over the past 3 years, we have mentored approximately 60 students from various academic backgrounds. We have increased confidence, skillset development, and connections amongst our community.

We serve students who experience a lack of representation in society due to historical discrimination or marginalization. Some factors include race, ethnicity, disability status, and socioeconomic status. We aim to provide these students with support and resources as they navigate their professional pursuits. Our current focus is on Metropolitan Atlanta areas, but we are working to expand our reach to more students from colleges across the United States.
-
Since graduating from the program, our scholars have found internships, externships, career placements, study abroad trips... just to name a few. More than 80% of all students find career advancement opportunities.
